Coworking Near Okemo
Coworking Near Okemo: Why Killington's Slope Space is Worth the 30-Minute Drive
There's no dedicated coworking space in Ludlow. Here's the next best thing, and why it might actually be better.
The Okemo Coworking Problem
If you're staying near Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, VT and need to get real work done, you've probably already discovered the gap. Ludlow is a charming ski town with great restaurants, a beautiful village, and absolutely zero dedicated coworking spaces.
The options you'll find? Coffee shops with unpredictable WiFi and a two-hour unspoken time limit. The rental kitchen table you're sharing with three other people. Maybe the lobby of your hotel, balancing a laptop on your knees while other guests walk by.
None of these work for a full day of focused remote work. Not for video calls with clients. Not for the kind of deep concentration that moves projects forward. The Ludlow area, Cavendish, Proctorsville, Chester, and the surrounding towns all share this same problem: great places to live and ski, but nowhere built specifically for getting serious work done.
30 Minutes to a Real Workspace
Slope Space in Killington is the closest dedicated coworking space to Okemo. The drive is about 30 minutes, and it's one of the most scenic commutes you'll ever have.
Getting Here from Okemo / Ludlow
Route 100 North (the scenic route)
Ludlow → Plymouth → Bridgewater → Killington. About 30 minutes. Wind through quintessential Vermont villages, past the Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth, and into Killington. This is the route most people take, and for good reason.
Route 103 to Route 4 (via Rutland)
Ludlow → Cuttingsville → Route 4 East → Killington. About 35 minutes. A good alternative if road conditions on Route 100 are rough. Connects through wider, well-maintained roads.
From Cavendish / Proctorsville
Take Route 131 to Route 100 North. About 25 minutes to Slope Space.
From Chester
Route 103 North to Route 100, or Route 103 to Route 4 via Rutland. About 40 minutes either way.
Thirty minutes might sound like a commute, but consider what you're trading: a kitchen table with bad WiFi for a purpose-built workspace with gigabit fiber, standing desks, and a gym. Most of our members from the Okemo area tell us the drive is actually the best part of their morning. Vermont countryside, mountain views, coffee in the cup holder. It beats sitting in traffic anywhere else.
What You Get at Slope Space
When you walk into Slope Space, you immediately understand why people drive from Ludlow, Cavendish, and Chester to work here.
- VTel gigabit fiber WiFi. Not "decent" WiFi. Not "it works most of the time" WiFi. Gigabit fiber that handles video calls, large uploads, and VPN connections without flinching.
- Standing desks and ergonomic seating. Every workstation is built for long, productive sessions. No hunching over a laptop at a cafe table.
- 27" 4K monitors with USB-C hub. Plug in one cable and you've got a full desktop setup. Available with our Peak Desk add-on ($3/hr on top of Hot Desk).
- Private call areas. Take your client calls without whispering or stepping outside into the cold.
- Coffee, tea, and snacks. Always stocked. Always included.
- Free printing, scanning, and copying. For those moments when you actually need paper.

The Gym, Pool, and Steam Room Bonus
This is where Slope Space really separates from anything you'd find at a coffee shop or hotel lobby. We're located at Mountain Green Resort, and every member gets access to the full fitness and wellness facilities:
- Full gym with free weights, Peloton bikes, and rowing machines
- Indoor pool
- Steam room and saunas
- EV charging in the parking lot
Working a full day from Slope Space means you can take a midday swim, get a workout in before your afternoon calls, or use the steam room to reset after a tough morning. Try doing that at a Ludlow coffee shop.

Ski Two Mountains, Work from One Space
Here's the thing most people don't think about: if you're staying near Okemo, Killington is only 30 minutes away. That means you now have access to two of Vermont's best ski mountains, and you can work from a real workspace between them.
Slope Space is less than a quarter mile from Killington's Snowshed Lodge. Morning runs at Killington, work from Slope Space in the afternoon, evening laps at Okemo. Or flip it. The flexibility is the point.
In the summer, the same logic applies. Mountain biking at Killington's Bike Park. Hiking the Long Trail. Swimming in the Ottauquechee River. And a real workspace when you need to be productive.
